About AshLaur
Hi, my name is Ashley Stribling I started AshLaur Shelties. I currently show, breed and train shelties. I breed for beauty, brains, conformation and above all outstanding temperaments. I compete in conformation, obedience and rally. I show in AKC, UKC and Internationally and have plans to do some showing in Canada soon. I am currently working on getting into agility and would like to work in herding and tracking in the future. I have been showing dogs since I was 7 years old; I started in junior showmanship with a blue merle sheltie stud that was owned by my mother. I also started training shelties when I was 7. I have put mulitple CD, CDX, TDI, CGG, Puppy S.T.A.R, RN, RA, RE, RAE, International Championship, UKC Championships and American Championships on my dogs over the years. I was literally born into showing and breeding shelties as my mother started breeding and showing them the year I was born. I am currently a member of the United Shetland Sheepdog Association and the White Shetland Sheepdog Association of America as well as my local obedience Club Kanawha Obedience Training Club and a founding member of the West Virginia Shetland Sheepdog Association (WVSSA). In addition I take what I do very seriously and I have continued to educated myself and find ways to improve my breeding program and how I do things which is why I have been recorgized by AKC as a breeder of merit and a certified bred with H.E.A.R.T breeder
I have all colors of shelties and I sell both pet/performance and show/breeding quality puppies and adults. Pets/performance quality ones are sold on strict spay/neuter contracts. All are AKC Reg, have Champion lines and most are also Champion sired; some are even out of both Champion parents. I occasionally have puppies and/or adults for sale we breed only a few well planned litters a year so do not always have something readily available. All of my dogs are housedogs and I do not have outside kennels. All are home raised, extremely well socialized, used to a busy family environment and are good with dogs, cats and people. I do genetic testing on my dogs and they come with health and genetic guarantees.
I am a full time professional dog groomer and owner of Almost Heaven Grooming Salon which is in Charleston, WV. This is a family business and I took over the reins from my mom is 2010. To view our salon's website just click the above link. I graduated from West Virginia State University on May 21, 2006. I graduated with honors and received a bachelor degree in Business Management and a minor in economics. I have plans to get my MBA soon. I am a member of the National Dog Groomers Association of America (NDGAA), Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), National Cat Groomers Institue of America (NCGIA), and International Cat Groomers Association. Furthermore I am a member of a number of other associations and I am also certified in pet first aid/CPR and in Canine Message Level 1.
In addition to showing dogs I have shown horses to State Championships. I now don't own any horses. The one below is the last one that I had. His name is Gigolo (Gigolo’s Big Shot) and he is a 15.2 hand black gelding. He is double registered as a Tennessee Walker and a Racking horse. He was the 2yr old World Reserve Grand Champion and has won many ribbons in both trail and country pleasure for me. I am the pictured in the one photo with him below.
I hope this page has let you get to know me a little better and if you are looking for a puppy I should have a perfect match for you either now or in the future. Feel free to contact me with any questions. If you are interested in getting a quality well bred and socialized puppy rather as a pet, obedience prospect or a show/breeding prospect and plan on giving him/her a great (even spoiled) home than I truly look forward to hearing from you soon.
